I am SURE this has been covered here, but when I did a search it was like finding a needle in a haystack! LOL!

To the question: I tried to make a boy out of fondant but found that my fondant dried almost immediately upon working with it. What am I doing wrong? It is Wiltons (primary colors package). I just took a clump and started forming my parts (arms, legs, etc.) but it would dry really quick.

Any tips or pointers?? I know this can be done! I have seen too many cute cakes on here to prove that it can! Thanks in advance!

I use MMF and have not had trouble with it drying out too quick - see my cows and frogs - both were made with MMF. I would only recommend keeping them in a plastic ziploc bag while you are forming the other pieces. This may help with them drying too quick.

Packaged fondant can be difficult; who knows how long it's been in that package;
my suggestion is to start with a small amount to test it. If it seems dry or is drying too quickly, rub a very small amount of Crisco on your hands & massage the fondant. Work it for several minutes... the warmth of your hands will soften it; then as you work each piece, place it on your work surface & cover it with plastic wrap.
hope it works for you.
