I was wondering about doing FBCT on sides of a cake?? I know I have seen one, but wasnt sure if this was an easy procedure or not?? I dont know if it would work on a round cake, maybe square would be easier. If you have done this, let me know...thanks
That you can do a FBCT on the side of a cake. I researched it not too long ago, and was told it is possible, just make the transfer backing (where you spread the white) a little thinner so it doesn't jut out as far.
I ended up not doing it (redesign issue) but I still want to try.
Good luck!
I did one for my grandson with FBCT on the sides. It was a round cake. I didn't thin the icing where the FBCT went on and it was 3D but that is what I wanted. When they got a little soft I lightly touched them to make them curved like the cake. LouAnn
I recently tried FBCT on the sides of a fairytopia cake. I put small butterflies on the sides. I did each one on its own sheet so I could take out one butterfly at a time. After they froze I took off the backing and then put them back in the freezer to get hard again. To put them on I got as close to the freezer as possible then quickly took it from the freezer to the cake. They did thaw quickly. They did come out pretty good.
I have never heard of frozen buttercream transfer, how does it work, and what is it? Is it like fondant?
For a FBT go to the top and click "Articles" you will find it their plus lots of other stuff.
