I have made three FBCT now and they all bleed. Mainly it is the black from the outline. I mixed some red and blue then added black (all Americolors) to make my black. I also used the preferred FBCT icing from the tutorial.

If I make a cake for anyone including my family I don't want bleeding colors, it just doesn't look good.

I'm in course I and she talks about how merengue powder stabilizes the icing. Not really sure if this would help, but sounds like a possibility. Try adding 1 TBSP to your icing.

I'm wondering if your icing is getting too hot, or you've thinned it out too much, or overwhipped it, or it's too humid in your house. Back when I lived in a house with no AC, the icing would start to break down in the heat and under the lights. I had to keep a fan on it and the lights off until I was ready to transport it.

Those are just my ideas. I hope someone here can help.
