Hi everybody!!! I have a question. I'm making a cake covered in fondant and I want to make some buttercream accents around it. I saw the article for making buttercream poinsetias and it looks like that recipe is perfect since it gets a little hard but you can cut through it. But I can't find clear vanilla around here. Can I use almond extract or something else? Or anyone can recommend any other recipe? Thanks in advance icon_smile.gif

Do you mean you need clear vanilla for the buttercream recipe? If you are planning on coloring the buttercream, don't worry about using clear vanilla, you can use regular. The clear vanilla is just to keep the buttercream nice and white, but if you're coloring it anyway, it shouldn't matter. It only tints it just a tiny bit, not enough to change the colors.
