Hey guys, I just sold my second cake (the computer/music one) and I was so happy when the customer came to pick it up. How do y'all do it? I was a nervous wreck from the time I finished decorating until it left my home. I thought that either I was going to drop it or one of my children was going to get into it! I'm going to drive myself crazy if I decide to pursue this as a career!

I so agree when i finish a cake and its waiting for pick up my kids are not allowed in the kitchen I am so afraid that there will be an " accident" but what a relief when it is finally picked up.

I know how you feel. I had to do chocolates for a wedding this weekend and the BTB came to pick them up yesterday. This was the first time I did such a large order (200 pieces altogether) and I was nervous. Pluse she came 2 hours after our scheduled time so I was in the middle of decorating a cake due today. But I was happy when she left with them so I could focus on the next thing. She loved them BTW.

That is so funny, I know exactly what you're talking about. I see one of my kids going toward the fridge saying something about juice and I'm like STOOOOOOOOOOOPPPP!!!! STEP AWAY FROM THE FRIDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the SAME way! I'm my worst critic, and worry over the cake's taste, the decorations, did I get as close as possible matching colors, and on and on. Each time that I head out the door to a delivery, I think of what I'd do if I fell down the steps and onto the cake. I worry over going around curves, over railroad tracks, somebody riding my bumper, and possibly rearending me...with the cake in the back! Argh! Funny, I always get the compliments (so far!), and get referrals from most of the cakes. Guess we're all our worse critics, but when you put this much time, effort, energy and pride into something, you want it to be appreciated and for your customers to like it just as much as you.

I'm also going to attempt to attach my very first picture on this website. This cake is from earlier today. [/quote]
