i just got my KA mixer last month. I have only used it 6 times tops. Mostly doing boxed cakes. I noticed the top is shaking a lot. Is this normal? Before having the KA, i had a sunbeam... can't remember having that problem w.it. But then again the power might be more. I have the Artisan, 325 watt motor. icon_sad.gif I hope my KA is not giving up already. i'd hate to send it back and have to wait for another one.

Hi katskakes, I too just got a new Artisan last month and have only used it a couple of times but have not had any issues with it. I was really disappointed when my Sunbeam gave up the ghost because it had been my faithful companion for over 25 years. Have to say though that I am loving my new KA. Any chance you can return it to the store (has it been within 30 days) so that you can avoid having to return it to the manufacturer? Looking into it sooner rather than later might be a good idea. Best of luck.

Kat don't know if this will help, but on one side of mine it has a little handle where you can lock it down so it doesn't shake or move, hope thats all is wrong and good luck I love my KAicon_smile.gif

I agree with irisinbloom....

I would double check to make sure it's locked. Your lock might be broken, it shouldn't bounce. I would call and have them send you a new one. If it's not what you want tell them, I would DEMAND a new one. That's just me. lol.

Hope it works out. I have a classical one, and can't imagine my life without it.

No, it shouldn't be shaking. Call KA and they'll send you one through UPS within a couple of days.
Unpack the new one, then pack yours in the same box and UPS will be back within a week to pick it up.
KA is a great company to deal with; they make great products and stand behind them.
Don't delay, get it remedied now!!
Good Luck!!!

I have an artisan also and when you tilt the head up youw ill see a screw in the hinge area. I have had the work its way in a few times and just have to unscrew 1/2 to 1 full turn. It tends to shake if it isn't out far enough. I usually have to play with it a little bit to get it to stop shaking, but it could have gotten moved during shipping.

Hope this helps. If you need more details let me know I can take pictures.
