I just started taking classes and decorating cakes and I done my first one last night, its a pink ribbon cake. A friend of mine saw it and wants me to make one for them, but a purple ribbon. I'm not sure what to charge. Any ideas? Its the ribbon pan that wilton makes so i'm not sure how many people it will serve. The cake is 15x8 at its longest and widest points.

Here are pics of the pink ribbon
I know I need to smoothe out the white icing more and do better with the bottom border, i'm going to practice some more.

I would think whatever you would charge for a 1/2 sheet cake

That particular cake should serve about 12. It looks pretty good. Did your WMI tell you how to get it smoother? You could use hot water, but that will thin your icing. If you let it set about 20-30 minutes just to get a little crusty take a piece of wax paper and your hand (the warmth of your hand) will smooth it out. Price depends on you.

You know I have tried all those methods and the only thing that works for me is the hat water icon_cry.gif
