Hi,
OK I use the no fail cookie reciepe with Antonia 's icing..Lately since it has been humind and raining my cookies get soft, after I decorate them, and if they have detail it breaks off.( like the heart on the top of the wedding cake cookie cutter) icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Also if I pipe dots to decorate the wedding cake cookies, when I bag them, some of the dots come off.. icon_cry.gif
I am more concerned about what I can add to the cookies to make them not so soft..Does anyone know?? It's not hot in my house, i have on the air, any tips would be GREAT!!! I have a big order for next week and I don't want soft cookies.....Thanks in advance!!!

cookies + humid weather = icon_sad.gif

I have a dehumidifier on 24/7 when cookies are drying in the summer and have to empty the machine a few times a week!

Try baking your cookies just a little more to a nice even golden brown to keep them harder for longer.

I have to do the same thing in the winter! Gingerbread houses are a chore sometimes.

I had the same problem with the no fail sugar cookies. It seemed as though the moisture from the icing was being absorbed into my cookies making them softer. I was doing a cookie bouquet and they kept breaking off of the stick (fortunatly I made extras). It was a gift for sometone and I ended up just laying them in a box. After that I went back to Martha's sugar cookie recipe.
