Oh No, can someone help me please!!!! I've never had this happen to me before and I just don't know what to do. There I was putting the final layer of icing on my 2 layer 9" round that I filled with Barvian Cream which I DID build a damn around the sides prior to putting the filling just like always. Well, going around the sides to make sure I have all my sides perfectly smooth, what do I see? There as pretty as you please is an opening and the Barvian cream is showing thru! WHAT DO I DO???? I've NEVER seen this. What caused this? How do I fix it? I thought of just making a thicker layer of icing, but won't it just go thru that too? If someone could help, I would really appreciate I'm really in trouble. This is just the bottom layer of a 3 tier cake due early tomorrow morning. Thanks in advance! God Bless!

icon_confused.gif hmmm well is there anyway you could add cake into the hole to stop it up? since it is the bottom layer when you put the other layers on it if you just put buttercream over it to cover it may squirt everywhere but if you jam it with cake you might be ok.. Not really sure without seeing it...My brain isn't much help sorry.

Well at least that's a thought. That's what I was worried about adding my icing wouldn't really help I wouldn't think because by the time you add the other layers, the weight would cause it to squirt right thru the patch again. I don't know what I done wrong, I've never seen this. Thanks for the suggestion, it's sure worth a try at this point. I was about to give up getting any help. Thanks agian!

Thanks so much Helen. That appears to be working, but I just don't understand, it's happening all around the sides now. Only on that layer. I've patched 3 other spots already. This has been the worse cake I've ever done. Usually when something isn't turning out it's because I'm not really in the mood to do it in the first place, but this is something I LOVE and ALWAYS want to do more of. I've looked forward to this cake in particular for 3 months now. I just couldn't wait to do it, I've done it I don't know how many times in my sleep already. Only thing, it didn't have any blow out spots in my dreams....LOL. I'm almost scared to look at it in the morning. No telling what it's gonna look like. Anyway, it's patched, the middle tier is done and in place and the top layer is in the fridge with it's crumb coat on it waiting for me to pull it out and finish it. I believe I need to leave EXTRA early with this cake tomorrow to allow EXTRA set-up time, I have a feeling I'm really gonna need it. Keep me in your prayers and thank you so much for your help, may not seemed like much to you, but it sure did save me! Thank you! God Bless.
