I have had the worst baking week. I have always seen this forum but thankfully have never had to use it. Till this week that is. I had two cakes go wrong & I am so frustrated. I work full time have a 2 year and a husband who is a work a holic so the whole household chores fall on me. I am trying to get regular cake orders & when I do plan to stay at home. Although I am burning it at both ends right now to get to that point I could not tell you which way was up or down. Sorry just needed to vent thanks to all of you out there who have helped with more things than I can count
So sorry you're stressed. I really hope everything works itself out and if there's anything we can do let us know. Good luck, and just remember, we've all been there.
First, know that you are not alone; we all get blue and feel pushed to our limits sometimes. You have friends here, and cakes and family are supposed to be fun. Say 'no' once in a while, even if it is to the vacuum cleaner - you'd be surprised how much it can help to say it out loud. No one ever dies of dust poisoning! Besides, it's not like it will go away; it will wait for YOU. Also, take even the tiniest bit of a time out for yourself - 5 minutes, an hour and relax. Hang in there!!!
I'd suggest getting some household help. you deserve to have time to do stuff you enjoy - if you ca'nt get your husband to help out around the house, tell him you plan to hire a cleaning lady or something. I you both work outside the house, you shouldn't be doing all the household chores. (Cake related advice in that if you get someone to hep out you'll have more time to make cakes!!!!! )
