I think I want to make a cake covered in Ganache, but I don't have a recipe and not sure how to apply it. Is it poured over the cake? Any help will be appreciated.

Tried this for the first time yesterday...Used the Ganache I recipe from this site and was super easy and yummy...makes a pretty small batch, though. I poured it and then swirled it with a spoon just on the top of an already iced cake, which was all I wanted.

8 ounces (227 grams) semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, cut into small pieces

3/4 cup (180 ml) heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoons any liquer for flavor (optional)

Weigh the choc and put in heat proof bowl.

heat the cream till boiling point then pour
over choc .
Let sit for 5 minutes covered. Then you whisk it
till smooth and cover till it becomes spreadable.
After the whisking, you can add flavoring.
hope this helps.

yes, it is super easy and super yummy and super impressive IMHO. I apply it with a spatula once it has cooled to the right consistency. Sometimes I stick it in the fridge for 5 - 10 min at a time and check on it until it's the right spreadability. Hope that helps.
