A cake with FRESH strawberries, when do you put the strawberries on the cake? In particular, a basket cake with strawberries peeking out of an open lid. Do you wait til the last minute or can you put them on the day before? If you put them on the day before, do you have to keep the cake in the fridge? TIA!

Anyone please? Not trying to be pushy or anything. I just have several cakes sitting on my counter. Thanks!

I don't recommend adding the fruit until the day the cake is to be served. Strawberries are notorious for "bleeding" and shrinking. Good luck!

Thank you . This is what was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Thanks again!
