Hi everyone. I am going to bake hubby's cake tonight- should have been done earlier this week but with work and all. Anyway, I was wanting to add in either some amaretto or kahlua-the cake is devils food. I am trying something new. Since I have never added liquor to a cake mix before, I was wondering how much should be added for just a subtle hint of flavoring? I am going to use 2 cake mixes, kahlua flavored BC, with raspberry preserves(seedless) for the filling. Maybe I shouldn't add any liquor at all. What do you guys think? Oh, any advice on baking 2 mixes of devils food cake would be greatly appreciated! I am baking it in a 15x11 pan. Thanks ahead of time.

but there is a recipe on the cake mix doctor website;
http://www.cakemixdoctor.com/recipe/pagemaker.cgi?1037821420.txt
The cake mix doctor book also has a recipe that involves amaretto and almond flavoring..but I don't have it with me at work...maybe someone else can give it to you... I like it, it tastes pretty good.
I just baked a devil's food cake last night in a 11x15. It calls for 11 cups batter. I didn't use quite a full two cake mixes. I just used the remander and made cupcakes. I did use the heating core for the first time and that seemed to help. I baked it at 325 and it turned out much better than my disaster a couple of weeks ago.
Good luck and be sure to post pictures when you are done!
