THis is my first time writing for help but I've seen such wonderful advice I thought I would give it a shot. My chocolate chip cookies are really really flat, to the piont I can't get them off the sheet. Dos anyone have any idea what I may have done wrong?? I'm at a loss. (I'm using self rising flour which I've always used) Please help icon_cry.gif Thanks

try to put your dough in the fridge for a little while and let it chill. i never use self rising anymore(mostly for that reason) .

have you ever tried the recipeon the crisco package? i love that one, they always bake perfectly and are the best when they are chewy!!

I always use the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips - the Nestle's one. I substitue half shorting for butter. I find that the butter makes them spread. I love making Chocolate chip cookies - I always get raves this way!

Chilling them is a good idea too.

I always use the toll house receipe and get lots of compliments too. The only other thing I'm wondering is did you use baking soda instead of powder or forget to put either of those in if the receipe calls for it? Just a thought - you probably didn't but I"ve heard of that happening.
