i have the canon ip1500 and i love it!! my mom got it for me for christmas and i think it was about 50.00 plus shipping. i do think that you will have to order this one because its out of stock every where here. but again i love it its only 2 cartridge so the color is really reasonable and i havent had any problems with it at all.
lisa is the perfect person to listen to about this also. she helped me alot when i was looking arounf for mine. maybe pink bunny just got a lemon.

i have only bought one set and i got it off line fron kopy kake. the "ink" is about 28.00 for the 2 cartridge set and the frosting sheet are about the same for 25(?) sheets. i think it was about 63.00 after shipping but kopy kake has a program that you can download for free and when you get your sheets in the mail there will be a code on the large envelope that you can put in to unlock your designs for the program that lets you print out alot of different ways. have fun!!

They'll replace it under the warranty. As a whole, Canon printers are great though. Sorry you had a bad exp icon_sad.gif

The iP3000 is about $100 or less and the iP1500 is $50 or less.

You can get the edible inks and frosting sheets from www.kopykake.com The iP3000 takes the 6000-SET and the iP1500 takes the KJKCSET. They both use the 1/4 sheet size frosting sheets (7.5"x10")

I have the ip1500 and couldn't be happier with it. I like it so much I got an extra for when this one bites the dust!

As far as I know, none of Canon's current printers are compatible with edible inks - yet. They're working on it! Everything that works with the edible inks is discontinued. That doesn't mean they aren''t available...it just means the big box stores don't list them on their websites. They only "officially" carry the new lines. You have to look at clearance tables and such. I found both of mine on Amazon. They were around $100. I know you can sometimes find them marked down in stores for around $50, but I didn't have the patience to comb the town.

When I was looking, I armed myself with a list of printers from KopyKale's website and just searched eBay and Amazon. Came up with lots of options.

Is there anywhere cheaper that you can find the paper and ink?

Yes. You peel the plastic backing off after printing the image and then apply it to your cake before the BC has had time to crust or form a skin. If the frosting sheet doesn't want to peel easily, it's because it needs longer to dry. You can let it airdry or you can speed up the drying process with a blow dryer.

Yes..when printing your image leave the backing on. The image will be on the front of the frosting sheet. After you remove the image from the backing, it'll be the underside that you put on the cake with the printed image facing up.

You can make the image ahead of time but you don't have too. It'll be good either way. You can store printed images in a heavy-duty ziploc bag. I store mine right back into the bag it came out of. You'll want to be sure the ink is dry enough not to smudge before placing it into the bag.
