Well, I tried... The cake on this site was so cute; the one with the baby coming out of the flower pot. I tried to do that cake because it seemed relatively straight forward. I followed the instructions (I think). No can do. icon_cry.gif Thank God it was a cake for my own baby shower. Ok, it was the week before I was due and my sister insisted she didn't want to buy a cake from the store because it just wasn't as good. I figured I'd have no problem. I baked my cakes, assembled per the instructions and covered the flower pot with the fondant. My problem, once the cake was chilled and I turned it over to start the next step, the fondant and buttercream started to pull away from the cake. I think I may have rolled the fondant too thick. I was afraid to do it too thin but I believe the weight of the fondant is what did me in. Well, it was the day before my shower and I had to do something so I had a half sheet and baked some batter in a stainless steel bowl for the rounded effect. I cut it in half and made a bassinette with a beautiful fondant bow drapped off the top.

Cake disaster not totally overted but at least it was just for me and no one else who was really counting on that cake design. If anyone else has attempted that cake, let me know if you had any difficulties. I'd like to blame it on the fatigue of being pregnant. icon_rolleyes.gif

P.S. I had the baby and she's beautiful. Now my mind is clear to bake more cakes.
