NOT assembled, do i really have to worry about the dowel all the way through the entire cake?? I know there are a lot of posts about 1st cake/delivery and believe me, i am one of them!

I have never used a dowel all the way through the cake, and none of my teired cakes have fallen, so I would think you should be ok. I assemble on sight also.
