I have admired a pillow cake holding a tiara and I want to do a similar cake for my daughter's cinderella birthday party only with a glass slipper on top. My cake store had never heard of a diamond impression mat. I really want that design on the pillow. Has anyone created that design without the mat? Better yet, WHERE can I get the mat?

I see they have those on the Sugarcraft site. Maybe some one else will know some more sources.

You could also use a ruler or something with a very straight edge, if you are sure of your placement. I have done that and it wasn't perfect, but the little mess up was in the back, so it wasn't that noticeable. Just much easier with an impression mat.

I have fooled around with the impression mat from Earlene. Some time this week I am going to try again. There are ways to do this with a ruler.

even when i use an impression mat i still go over it with the rules edge wrapped in paper towel to make it a little wider and deeper. the mat is great to get the placement right, but it could be done with out it although i would take a little longer.
