How do you store unfrosted cupcakes? I have tried leaving them out and they seem a bit stale, I have tried covering them and the tops get sticky.

How do you do it? And for how long can they hold?

I wonder if they could be put in the freezer in an airtight container? Has anyone else tried this before? I know freezing cake layers works well when wrapped in saran wrap then in foil... I know you couldn't do that with cupcakes as it would stick to them, but I wonder if you could freeze in an airtight container? Maybe someone else has frozen some before.

I have frozen them in an airtight container before and they did just fine..... I did store them in a single layer though.

I wait until mine cool and then put them in large ziplock freezer bags. As long as they cool enough, they don't end up "wet" from condensation. I leave mine on the counter up to a few days or in the freezer for longer.

Make sure to take them out of the bag when defrosting though...

Mine always stay nice and fresh.

Edited to change freeaer to freezer....whoops!
