How Far In Advance..............

can I bake and decorate sugar cookies (with R.I)? I have 2 decorated sugar cookie orders for next week, one for Wednesday and one for Friday, how early can I get these done for them to still be in good/great condition for the delivery day? I know they need to be decorated at least 24hrs in advance to be sure the icing is dry, but how much sooner could I do it? They will all be individually wrapped and tied in cellophane. I've made cookies before that we were still eating happily 5 days later (just kept in a tupperware box), but I want your opinions as far as customers go please! Thanks in advance. (I should add that both these orders are being done just above cost as a sort of business ploy - they are both going to places where I might get potential business from, so they still need to be good to impress!!!).
I baked lots and lots of cookies for christmas. They aren't decorated as shown here on CC but almost all of them are roll-out cookies so it will be the same.
I start to bake at 1. november every year, finish till 6. december and the cookies are even good in the new year.
Most of my cookies are filled with jam so they stay moist.
I store my cookies in metal boxes and I put parchment paper between every layer of cookies.
Last christmas my father needed lots of cookies as a gift to the customers of the company he works for. Here's the image he made from a picture of a selection of my cookies.

Thanks!
I made 48 different sorts. Therefore I didn't decorate them artistically as shown here on CC.

Any of our American ladies/gents (who are going to start being around now!), know the answer for decorated sugar cookies?????
Babe post this in the Cookie section...there isn't much activity in there but maybe Cake_Princess, Kos or Anotnia will answer for you a bit later or some other knowledgeable kind soul.
The RI keeps them fresh for almost forever. Store mine in tins with parchment etc. My DH is still eating the leftovers months later!
