I'm new to CC. I've been reading and looking at all the beautiful cakes. I will be doing my first wedding cake in May. They want a Harley Davidson theme. So I'm looking for some advice. 2 Tiers, in the middle bouquet of orange/black roses, on the top 2 Harley's. I'm not sure of a color for the icing on the cakes. I don't really care for orange/black and the thought of it on white/off white, just yuck. Any suggestions?

Why not cover it in a chocolate ganache? then you can pipe alternating black and orange around the base of each. Or if you want to really get into it, put half circle cookies decorated as wheels around the the base of each layer though I think that might compete with the roses. Or a twisted rolled fondant with black and orange. That's easy...

Hmmm.. I wonder what else..

Ask your customer to buy a harley davidson topper.
They have one on Ebay now for around 30 dollars.
This will free you up to do as pretty a cake as you want!

Maybe you could put some orange hearts outlined in black on the sides of the cake? Just an idea. Please let us see this cake when you're done with it.

How about using the Harley mold with MMF and adding as borders.

If she is not using a topper, maybe you can make one using their monogram and laminating a Harley picture. Just let their monogram be done in orange and black gumpaste and dusted with luster for sparkle.

Add some baby's breath and small flowers in that same color and presto, you have a topper.
