Hi this is my first attempt to draped fondant cake. The birthday girl loved it a lot.

It's a 15th birthday, kind of like a coming of age party I think. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

So kind of like a sweet sixteen or is it more important than that? It's interesting to find out more about a different custom. Where does it originate from, why and I've got loads more questions. The cake though is incredibly beautiful, I thought it was something like an engagement or so, cause the style of these cakes are so wedding like. Can someone tell me more about it please?

Beautiful cake, drapes are perfect. Congratulations. Were I come from this celebration for some people could be as big as a wedding, the birthday gril wears a big dress, like a weedding one but no veil and it does not have to be white, they have 14 of their best friends drees up (kind of lke bridesmaids ) and they have a great big party to celebrate that she is turning into a "woman",with all the family and friends that yuo'd want to invite. For me it has a lot sentimental purpose and another excuse to have a party. Can't wait for my dauther's ... she is 8 month old ha,ha,ha. Caixa.
