In Los Angeles a cake like this would be more in the $3.50 to $4.00 a serving. If anyone tells me that they can get in the grocery store, I graciously smile and tell them that is perhaps what they should do if it will make them happier.

I always add that many bakery and discount cakes are made months in advance and use artifical ingredients. Afterall, you get what you pay for!
