I have a request for a construction themed cake shaped in a 5. The woman saw my race car cake in my pics. Any ideas and how much should I charge? She wants one layer choc and one layer vanilla cake with cannoli cream filling made from 9in round.

You'd probably use 2 or 3 batters, and she wants special filling. It'd serve 30-35 people? I think $50 or $60 is reasonable.

That's what I was thinking, but why is it sooooo hard to tell people how much you think you're worth? I know this has been discussed here before but I guess I have to feel more confident.

That's a very reasonable price too! I don't know why we doubt ourselves. You could charge even more, but it's a relatively simple design so the price is very fair!

You'll get used to it after a while. I still feel a little bit bad when I give a bride who is surely on a budget a price in the hundreds.....but they insist on these mountanous creations and I can't give away free cakes all the time!!! I"ll get over that too, soon enough!
