Hey everybody! I am finally deciding to start adding gumpaste to my fondant (50/50 mix) due to hating the drying time for molding/figurines. For some reason, I cannot remember if it has been posted on how to store the extra for the 50/50 mix icon_cry.gif Is it the same as fondant?? Wrap in suran wrap, then put in an airtight container on the counter? Do you put a light coat of crisco on it too before wrapping?? Jen

Yes, exactly. And store at room temperature. But I have a question, are you speaking of mixing a 50/50 paste to use for bows, molding, flowers? Or for covering the cake itself? I prefer straight fondant for flowers and bows because it can be rolled much thinner, dries faster and is stronger when dry. For covering a cake I would not use 50/50 paste, it will not have a good eating texture or flavor.

SORRY,SORRY. I just had a PM from Blakescakes questioning me about this, now I understand what she was confused about. I meant to say I prefer straight GUMPASTE, not fondant. OOPS! icon_redface.gif
