I have a fish cake to do tonight. What and how are the best tips to use for a realistic look? Thanks in advance

Colette Peters uses the fat end of a tip to press in half moons for fish scales. Hope that helps.....

Do you use the paper towel method to smooth your BC? Maybe you could find a paper towel with an imprint on it that could look scaly. Or use one of the petal tips.

I used the top of a 2 liter soda bottle to cut scales out of fondant for a fish cake I did. It was meant to look cartoonish so I didn't try to put any detailing on the scales. I think if you lay them right with a little impression on them, they'd look great.
