Hi, all ~

May be possibly getting my first wedding cake order and needed to know what to charge per serving - fondant vs. buttercream, etc.

Thanks so much!

You should probably call around to different bakeries to see what the going rate is for your area. I live in Az and I was getting $3.50 per slice for buttercream and $4.50 for fondant.

I agree. I would call around. However, here in my area of Mississippi the prices are lower--around $2.00 a serving. Some are less and there are a few that charge much more. Make sure that you are happy with the price and that it feels fair to you. People sometimes tell me I should charge more, but only you know what is fair to you. Good luck!

Ohio starts about $1.50 and goes up from there depending on the area and part of the State.

Right now I'm really glad I don't live in Ohio! icon_smile.gif

In CT wedding cake slices start at $3 for buttercream and $5.50 for fondant. Those are the starting prices!

Man, we're getting ripped!! I just quoted a cake for $1.25/slice. That is buttercream with strawberry filling.
