I know a good filling mousse can be made using pudding mix and Cool Whip. I happen to have Dream Whip mix on hand - and no Cool Whip. Logic tells me I can do the same thing with this stuff. Has anybody tried it? Would you make the Dream Whip first and then use it as if it was Cool Whip? Or can the two powders be mixed together with a certain amount of milk and done in one swell foop? Advice, anyone?

I jsut made the type of filling for 3 cakes this weekend. I used cool whip, but would say you certainly can use dream whip as an alternative. Just mix your dream whip and let it set for a few minutes. Mix your pudding using about 1/2 cup less milk than what the recipe calls for. Fold in your dream whip and "voila"....pudding mousse. It's deadly as a filling. I may not add the entire amount of dream whip, but when enough to get things nice and fluffy. Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out.
