I'm so excited and I had to share it with everyone! I've bought burgundy colors from every cake icing maker out there and could never get past a deep mauve. But I bought like 15 Americolors from this very website and got them last week - including their burgundy - and it ACTUALLY MADE A BURGUNDY COLOR! I'm so shocked and pleased that I don't even know what to do with myself. Most of the time you have to mix colors to achieve a burgundy and I just never wanted to mess around with that - especially since everyone has a different idea about which colors to mix and how parts of what to add to another, etc. Actually, although I've only been able to play with about 7 of my colors so far (I also finally found the most gorgeous ivory! Wilton's is too yellowish for me, but the Americolor makes a beautiful ivory - as long as you just add a touch. Too much makes it too dark for my liking - but I don't think you're supposed to add too much of any Americolor because their colors are so concentrated) and I love them all - they have a beautiful mauve and I love their electric pink - can you tell I love any shade of pink?! But they have a really cool gold color also that I've never seen before.

Anyway, I just had to share with everyone who actually knew what I was talking about - my hubby just stared at me blankly when I told him about it (just like he did when I discovered that I could make MMF for cheaper than buying fondant and it tastes so good! He couldn't have cared less) and of course my 1 year old and 4 year old were less than impressed.

Ok, enough of my going on and on - thanks for listening, everyone!

Thanks for the info Pyxxydust. I just placed my order with Americolor and am really looking forward to trying them out. Aren't you glad this website is here so we can share our triumphs (and occasional failures) with kindred souls? icon_smile.gif

You're absolutely right - I just discovered this website a couple weeks ago and I admit I'm a Cake Central junkie now.

You'll love your colors - I'm certain of it! Have fun playing with them!

that's awesome, I just realized that my local cake supply store sells americolor colors.........I was soooooo excited!!!!! I have heard everyone on here saying how awesome they were so I just had to try!! I only bought one color........but it's gorgeous, and a little does go a long way.......which I think is awesome!!!!! Thanks for the tip on the burgundy and ivory...I have wondered about those harder to achieve colors........sounds like americolor has got them down though

The Americolors are soooo wonderful! I am replacing my wilton colors with these a few at a time. They are so easy to use too! thumbs_up.gif
