Need Help On Hard Candy

OK i have an idea for my sons bday cake. We are having a dino party so i have his cake planned andi plan on putting a volcano on it made out of the wonder mold. For the lava i am using hard candy got the idea from anoter member here on CC sorry i cant remeber her name at the moment. then i thoughtit would be cool to do a 9 out of hard candy as well to put on the top of the volcano buti want to make it white not clear so it can be the smoke. anyone know how to make it white and clouded looking instead of clean

The only thing i can think of is to do the nine out of pulled sugar. Some of the other great decorators can probally help you with that more than I can.

yeah i was afraid of that. I am noway ready to do pulled sugar.

what if you just did it clear and dusted it with powdered sugar after it was cool?

DOesnt work Kaydidz, I've tried it before. I've thought about it some more. What about white cotton candy. The stuff that comes in packages (i think its called fluffy stuff or fluff stuff) can be scrunched up and molded. I've done this for gingerbread houses.

cotton candy i would have never thought about that. hmmm maybe i will make the 9 red to match the lava and add the cloud of cotton candy smoke wonder how that wuold look
