My first real class of Wilton level 3 starts tomorrow. I refuse to use the Wilton Fondant since the smell and taste make me sick, and have decided to use the MMF from here.

My question is....can I add the Gum-Tex Karaya to MMF like you would to the wilton fondant, and have it turn out comparable?

(We are going to be using it for flowers for this first class).

I think this is the greatest site on the net, BTW!!
Thank you in advanceicon_biggrin.gif

Yep, it will work. As long as you are happy with the MMF then treat it no differently than you would fondant.

have fun!

Thank you, tripletmom.

Thing is...I've never made fondant before. This is only the second time I've ever worked with it. I did make the candy clay a few years ago, just using the instructions in the Candy Making Booklet from Wilton. From what I've seen on this site, according to what everyone is saying, it's the same thing...and from my experience with fondant a few months ago.

So, basically....I will soon find out whether I'm happy with the MMF. All I know is ...from a recent thread that I read....it's the best choice for me right now. All the other types of fondant (that pple are talking about) I've never even heard about.

Oh well...it's off to try my hand and making fondant icon_biggrin.gif Wish me luckicon_razz.gif

So how much do you add??? I just bought some gum-tex too and it comes in a small jar so I am assuming not too much is needed????

I've got my course 3 book. It says to add 1 teaspoon to 12 ounces of fondant. Hope this helps icon_biggrin.gif
