Have y'all ever made a cake and knew you couldn't have a slice of it but it looked sooooooo good you just really really want a piece???

I made a cake last night that looks soooooo good that I keep thinking about cutting me a big ole slice of it but I know I can't. It's going to be a Birthday cake for a co-worker. But then I tell myself I can make another cake for the co-worker and keep this one for me. Grrrrrrr I am so frustrated!!! I WANT A BITE!!!! LOL

I think I need serious help icon_biggrin.gif

well at leats you don't have the peanut gallery that follows behind you to the fridge for the 45th time and says behind you ....its ok, we can have just one piece!!!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Anytime I make a cake my kids flock around it 20 times saying its ok just a little piece!!!

Oh my goodness, a little sliver from under the strawberries. LOL. I actually seen Paula on the food network spoon out a piece of pie that way. She didn't blink an eye and moaned how good it was and it was on cable TV!

LOL! I seen that episode before. It is so funny when she did that. She said "no one will notice", because she was going to put cool whip over it anyway. LMAO!

I did it!!! LOL I ate a piece of the cake and it was sooooooo yummy!!! I had to go in to work for a couple of hours tonight so I took the cake with me to share. The person I made it for won't be back to work for over a week so I guess it was a good thing I didn't wait. Everyone loved it and within one hour the cake was completely gone!!! I was so happy everyone liked it icon_smile.gif

My kids do the same thing! Every cake my 2 year old asks is that my cake mommy, is it for my party? My hubby's not much better either, I almost didn't get a picture snapped of my class cake I brought home tonight before he grabbed a piece!

I'm glad you brought this up, just last week I told my friend about a cake I did for someone. I wanted to try it so badly. I said thats the problem with giving away cakes you don't get to eat them. LOL. Oh well, less calories for me. I do taste everything I can while making a cake, but then I never get to eat it, I'll be sitting at home in the evening thinking, gee I could really eat some of that cake right now. so no you are not alone.
