I only used to buy the wilton yearbooks and after stumbling over one of debbie browns books. I got hooked i just bought four of her books "50 easy party cakes, lovable charater cakes, magical cakes, and enchanted cakes for children" and I think they are great. I also found one by lindy smith "celebrate with cakes" that was great.

Being fairly new to this "hobby" of mine, I too usually went with the Wilton yearbooks. A few months ago I discovered Debbie Brown's 50 easy party cakes and things just haven't been the same! I also have Betty Crocker's NEW Cake Decorating book ~ which is very helpful to me.

I love Lindy Smith and Debbie Brown too!
I also really like "Spectacular Cakes" by Mich Turner. You can view her work at www.lvcc.co.uk Actually, alot of the cakes on her website have instructions in her book.
I've also just ordered a Toba Garrett book called "The Well Decorated Cake." And "Pretty Party Cakes" by Peggy Porschen. They had lots of good reviews so hopefully they're worth it.....

I am a fondant girl, so I too LOVE Debbie Brown, Lindy Smith, Polly Pinder, Jane Asher, Lindsay Bradshaw....

You can do a search on the net, most have web sites of their work as well as books....

I started with Wilton books but now I have some of Debbie Browns. So far I've just enjoyed looking at the pictures dreaming about being able to make a cake like hers but next month I'm going to give one a shot for my daughters 1st birthday. I'm scared but i can't wait icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

Which ones don't I have!

My favorites are Colette's. She's the best.

My least favorites are Wilton's. They aren't as up-to-date as I'd like and they don't seem to focus on flavor at all.

I also like WBH.
