The past weekend I had a cake that was falling apart and kept gettin bumped while I was decorating it .. it was not meant to be! So I a cardboard box about 4" x 4" x4" (actually from my cake central order) I Covered the box with gumpaste and put gumpaste ribbon and bow on top of it. Then used royal icing on the sides for decoration.

Cheapest cake dummy around a cardboard box covered with packaging tape to make it moisture proof. I used an old tupperware lid for the bottom to hold to box away from the cake so I can use this over and over again.

See my photos to look at the shower cake.

It looks fantastic. I would have never thought to use my cake boxes for dummies.

Yes I am in the process of using a contact lens box...tooth paste box and girls scout cookie box.
I am on a mission for boxes. Any thing to save money.
