Help! I am making a 1/4 sheet cake and I am putting the full sports ball cake on top. It will be decorated like earth. How do you get a round cake to sit on there? Do I cut the bottom off a little to make it flatter, or do you put it on a base? Would it be better to just do half of it on there?
Thanks for any input you can give me![/i]

I have used this ball pan for several projects. Bake both sides and let cool fully. Then trim off the very bottom of one side so it sits by itself like a bowl. Then place the other half on top. I secure it to the bottom cake with a dowel. I have never had a problem with it falling. I did a fish cake like this and it turned out great! Good luck!

I would think you would want to put some dowels into it to keep it from shifting......and that should help hold it there
