I'm about to begin my stretch off at work. I'm planning to make a bunch of different flavored cupcakes for when I return to work. However, I'm not quite sure of the best way to transport them. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Have you seen that kewl 3-1 carrier that Wilton has? Also you might try going to the local grocery store and see if they will either give or sell you the twelve pack cupcake containers.

That's a good idea. Is that something like a drink holder but for cupcakes?

kinda sorta but it's clear plastic with little cubbies for each cupcake. and a hinged dome lid.

The Wilton 3 in 1 carrier is more awesome than the tupperware one! And Michaels has a 40% off coupon in the paper this week so you can get it cheaper too if you have one of those stores near-by. ANd for future reference (in case you shop at JoAnns instead of Michaels) JoAnns will take the Michaels coupons for any item except fabric. Something to remember since their super stores carry more cake decorating variety than Michaels does (or so I've noticed in CA anyway).

They are always in the Sunday papers. I'm in California, so I'm not sure wha the differences are state to state. Maybe one of your neighbors still has theirs?

I got lucky on the cupcake carriers they use in grocery stores....sometime back when the winn-dixie stores here were closing and I bought a bunch of their stock..i got cases and cases of them..there are literally 1000's of those things..for $5.00! Maybe you could see if a local bakery or gro. store will sell you some. If ya were closer I would bring ya some! Good luck!

I don't know about the Michaels near you, but I find they usually have flyers at the store, coupon and all icon_lol.gif You could also find the cake boxes meant for cupcakes, they aren't as deep and usually will state how many cupcakes it will hold, something like this: http://www.goldaskitchen.com/merchant.ihtml?id=186&pid=10611&step=4 . At least you know that those dimensions will fit 24 cupcakes.

Oh, and here is the link to the 3-in-1 carrier: http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=BFB486EA-802D-F658-02B38E82FDA40AB1&fid=BFB48709-802D-F658-0B88D9A7E33D725E

Susan
I used these
http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp?pn=PP1014&bhcd2=1140600663

to carry my cupcakes for this cake

and not one was damaged. I loved them, this is half of them in the box with the liners.

I bought these from the USA, and it cost me heaps in shipping, but it was worth it, it will cost you a lot less since you are local : )

The great thing about them is that they are washable and if you look after them they should last for a loooong time
