Hi, I'm new here. I've been looking at the Children's Birthday Cake gallery and I've been seeing all sorts of acronyms like BCT, MM..., F....
Can somebody please give me the meanings of all those? What is a smash cake?

A smash cake is a mini cake made to go with a birthday cake (ussually 1st b-day) for the baby to "smash" and drool on and play with. That way the main cake is still nice and edible for the rest of the people.
As for all the acronyms, in the "general" forum, there is a "sticky" which is the first post, and it has a litst of all the acronyms and translations! HTH (hope this helps)!

A smash cake is a small cake given to the birthday baby (usually on it's 1st birthday) to, yes you guessed it, smash and eat. There is a post for all the other things. Type in acronyms in the search box.

Welcome. You're going to love it here!!

BCT - Buttercream Transfer
MMF- Marshmallow Fondant

Smash Cake - a small individual cake specifically for the birthday girl/boy that accompanies the main cake. This way they can "smash" the cake and have a great time and everyone else can enjoy the other cake. I believe this is usually for a 1st birthday, but I have seen them for other (young) ages as well.
