Hi I just made my first batch of MMF and at first it was perfect, but after a few hours it was hard as a brick. I followed the recipe exactly but I don't know what happened. I need to make three more batches next week, but don't want to mess them up. Any clues what I might have done wrong?

I usually just pop it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and it softens right up, it will then be very easy to use and roll out.

Make sure that you have it wrapped well so that the air doesn't dry it out. Wrap it in two layers of cling film and then put it in a ziploc bag or airtight container and it should be fine. As booberfrog said if its still too hard pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and it should soften right up.

aurora341, I made three batches of the MMF last weekend and was really disappointed when I nuked it 30 seconds and it was still hard. I really wanted to use this fondant because it tasted better than the "rolled fondant" so I nuked again for about 15 seconds . It was softer, so I kept nuking for 5 seconds at a time until it was ready to be used. It was then a dream to work with. Just remember to cook fondant and grease your hands with shortening before handling.
