I want to buy one and was wondering if i should get the one with the base board or the one with the clamp. I do not have much experience and think this will help me.Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry I can't help. I don't have a projector, but I'm interested in knowing more about them and what people like and don't like about the different models.

Hello,
I noticed your post on the projector, actually, I am a painter, and I use the projector to reduce and enlarge patterns for whatever surface I am painting. Mine has a table and I love it. I guess the clamp would come in helpful for a cakedecorator, you would just clamp it to your kitchen table, or whereever it is that you work. But then I think, I can move this to anywhere I want and still have a flat surface for my cake or painting, I wouldn't be looking for a place to clamp it. Just my two cents worth!

Just wondering. They have these type of projectors at Hobby Lobby and Toy's R Us, they aren't made for Cake Decorating but they are the same type of projectors. The most expensive one runs around $90.00. I was wondering if it would work the same as the KopyKake one. I really want one of these but feel that they are pretty bulky and I really don't have the space.

I bought one of the type projectors at Hobby Lobby, not the more expensive one though. I found that it doesn't focus small enough for me to use it on a cake, so I bought a Kopykake on eBay for not much more than $90. I think you would be better satisfied to spend more for the Kopykake.

Mine is on a board, which I put on a table that rolls around so I can move it out of the way when I don't need it. HTH Janice

I agree with Janice, the other kind of projectors sometimes distort the image, with a kopykake, you can blow it up to 2400 times the image or with the reducing ring size it down to (can't find my brochure) but really little if you want to...perfect for cupcakes!

I have a Kopykake 300XK.I love it!! I have the one with the base stand and it really is the way to go.I would find it hard to clamp anywhere and it might wreck your countertop etc...I bought mine from Kopykake.I use almost every week.Go to thier site and look around!!

I have one with the base board too. I agree it is the best way to go.
