I am doing a football cake for a boy's birthday party, I want to cover the cake board with football wrapping paper. How do I do that ....I mean do I just cover the board with it, and that's it??? Do I need to put any plastic wrap overtop the wrapping paper or anything?

cover it with the paper and then some clear contac paper....that way it will not get stained...

If you use wrapping paper to cover a cake board, it's very important to cover the paper with saran wrap, cellophane, or clear contac paper because most wrapping papers contain lead in the inks used to print it. It isn't food-safe, so you don't want the cake or icing to touch it.
