I purchease all my cakes boards from the local box store. For heavier stacked cakes...I use wooden boards cut at Lowes. icon_smile.gif

you use cake boards as the base for your cake to sit on, or to seperate layers on a stacked cake. sometimes, i will use heavy duty cardboard cut to fit

I purchased the stand from a local cake supply store. I have also seen them online. It is actually called a cake plateau. The cake is on a silver cake board and then placed on the plateau. These are very nice for wedding cakes. icon_smile.gif

I have several boards cut from MDF board for my larger cakes and I also have the silver boards from Wilton they are 4 or 5 cardboard circles glued together with silver fancy foil over them.
