Ok.. It's me again with lots of Q's (Kind of long)

When covering a pound cake with fondant, would I use the sugar glaze underneath or would you recommend buttercream? OR has anyone tried reg. cake mix in a bundt pan?? if so, was it strong enough to keep the mold.. I posted about some cupcakes and pound cake pricing in another forum.. (sigh, no response) soooooooooooooooo I have decided to charge 250.00 for 200 cupcakes, 1 cinderella (replica) barbie doll cake and 2 pound cakes... hmmm.. I know, I know, it's cheap.. BUT my aunt really needs a break..

Here is her dilemma.. She has been planning her daughters Quince for 2yrs .. It was canceled because she (my aunt) got sick and had to hurry up and get married for insurance purposes.. Then a year past and aunts brother passed away (canceled again) then a few months later aunts mother passed away (canceled again).. Poor girl will be 17 this MAY.. So they decided to do a fast Quince this April.. I had originally quoted her 375.00 for a cake to feed 300 people.. I charge her 1.25 a slice.. plain white cake with buttercream icing nothing real fancy.. But after thinking about it again.. Cupcake tower will be alot cheaper for me to make and alot easier.. I can freeze them ahead of time and just ice and go.. I figure I can do this for about 100 or less.. I really just want to make enough to buy an edible image printer.. or at least half of the price!!!
So I will profit something.. ALSO this might bring me some potential customers..
So whatcha think????

I've used cake mixes in bundt pans and haven't had a problem. I don't put as much oil as the box asks for I usually just put one tbsp. You can do lots of fun things with bundt pans. Good luck.

I've heard of people using an apricot glaze instead of buttercream under fondant.
