I was just asked to make republican petit fours. The suggestion was elephants or american flags on top. Do you guys have any other ideas for these?

well considering the size, can you really fit an elephant on there? maybe just the face?
ditto for flag...that would be miniscule detail work.
What might be a better solution would be sort of a petit fours verison of a cupcake cake would be very easy to do as a flag.
bunch of red laid out in rows, with bunch of white (ditto) the stripes of the flag.
then blue ones, some (50?) with stars on them for the field of blue.
great ideas, I love the idea of a petit four cake!

Okay guys here's what I came up with. What do you think? I also will suggest the petit four flag idea that doug came up with. Let's hope she chooses that, it would be so much easier than all this piping! But I do love the little elephants they are so fun to make!

Just in case anyone is following this. The customer chose the sittingelephant and the repelephant, she wants half and half. The sitting elephant was my favorite! I will post them in March when I make them
If I were the customer, I would have chosen the sitting elephant also. If I were the decorator, I would have chosen just the elephant head!!!! All choices were very nice. Glad no one asks me to do Republican cupcakes--I'd probably stick a donkey on them.............oops! Need to keep my political beliefs to myself. As my daughter would say when she sells to someone she doesn't like: "Their money's green, that's all that matters."
I love that saying! And elephants seem to have a lot of money!
Stupid me. Not cupcakes----petit fours---had my normal lapse in memory. We call them brain f----s!
Anyway, beautiful elephants. Will be anxious to see them when you get done in March.
