WOW, it sounds like we will be hearing the roar of mixers and seeing the clouds of flour flying everywhere ~ how fun.

I'm just starting in the cookies so I'm so excited to be doing them for the bakesale. I'm just hoping they turn out well enough to add them to my portfolio.

Sending birthday wishes too

My sister's birthday is tomorrow, and we're celebrating at my house on Sunday. I'm making a two layer chocolate cake with an oreo mousse filling, and chocolate ganache. Then I'll decorate it with royal icing lilies, because they're her favorite flower. icon_biggrin.gif

This weekend I am making my first belly cake for my cousins baby shower. It should be interesting considering my last attempt using MMF was a disaster. This time I am going to try the wilton stuff and just take it off before we eat it. The downside to this is if I dont get this cake right we dont have a cake icon_eek.gif Yikes!!!

Well, unlike most of you, I'm basically just doing this for fun. (until word gets out and I start getting more orders...I've only had one so far! I've only been at this for a couple months, though.) So, I have a double batch of royal icing and a batch of colorflow to make for class. I'm also going to make a cake for DH to take to work on Monday...probably something St. Patrick's Day themed, plus all the frosting/filling that goes with it.

Friday afternoon I started decorating a bunch of shamrock cookies with faces, just for fun. I figured I would probably give them to my husband's niece for her family. (Will post the picture later today)

DH and I went out for dinner last night and ran into an old friend. She asked me what I'd been up to, so I told her about the cookie decorating and she said she would love to buy them for her party tonight. She wanted 2 dozen and I only had 1-1/2 dozen baked, so after we got back from dinner I baked the other half dozen and finished decorating them. She is going to pick them up on the way to her party. Yeah! I didn't have to give them away for free! icon_biggrin.gif

I am hoping to mix up a batch of Chocolate Chip cookies tomorrow and get them scooped then freeze. I want to try and freeze them in balls then just bring to room temp on a tray then bake. i am hoping to add these to my Easter cookie boquets so thought I would do a trial run for St.Pat's day.

Also plan on make some sugar cookies for st. pats day. And also making a few for easter so I can to an example for the Easter Boquets (i'm excited though I already have 3 orders for them and they haven't even had my cookies or seen the sample!-those are some trusting customers)
