Where is the cheapest (online) source for dusts (lustre, petal, pearl)?

There are so many places to order from, I'm just wondering if someone has compared the majority of them to see who the cheapest is.

It looks like $3 per 2 grams is about the average price? Anyone know of any super specials or cheap sources?

not sure about anyplace to get them cheaper but I did find a place that sells them in a set. I couldn't decide what colors I wanted but wanted a variety so bought a set of 12 at this site:

when you figure in shipping etc I suppose it cost a bit more but I like the idea of having a nice starter set rather than try to pick colors online since I'm not using them for a specific cake yet

Thanks guys!

I'm just trying to stock up before the next big shipment (from my private shipping comapny--my mom, lmao) and realised that I need more dusts. Here they are crazy expensive.

I was just wondering where everyone else gets theirs and how much they pay thumbs_up.gif

Thanks again for your responses!

Anyone else?

Nice to know! I want to buy some luster dust from the internet too. This will be my first attempt to use it. I'm just wondering how long can you use 2 grams of lustre dust? Is it enough to use in at least one wedding cake of four or five layers?

I always mix cornstarch to my dusts, if they are too "dramatic". It mellows them out, and they last longer, because you increase the volume. Have fun!!

Didi5-it depends on what you are using it for. If you are just using it to accent with, it should be more than enough. (But, again, it depends on how many pieces there are to accent) But it lasts quite a long while. And if you use pure alcohol to paint with, when the alcohol evaporates you can just dump the powdered remains back into the container and use it again and again.

Great tip Bagadonuts!! Thanks!
