I am trying to make brown icing, but it looks like it has a red tint to it. I am using wilton colors. Is there anything I can do to salvage this icing. icon_cry.gif

Maybe try adding some green to it? Some times if my color isn't working out right I will add more plain icing to it and then start adding more colors... its helps to make the bad color less intense before you start adding additional colors. HTH

I always just add cocoa powder and make it chocolate, then I don't need to use brown coloring. I have found the brown color by Wilton kind of a "yucky" looking brown....the chocolate makes a better looking brown I think! So maybe you can turn it into chocolate, that is unless you don't want the flavor of chocolate...

I used green to try to cancel the red since they are opposite one another on the color wheel. It worked fairly well. Not perfect but it's just for a family get together. I will remember the tip about the cocoa.

Yep, cocoa or melted chocolate also does the trick! icon_biggrin.gif

I also use cocoa or melted chocolate. Sometimes w/cocoa you need a little more liquid, but it looks much bettter than Wilton brown color. Sometimes I use them together. By the way the brown does look better after it sits for a while. It gets darker just like the other colors.
