I had a lady call me yesterday wanting a cake for this friday! I either need to tell her no since I really have a lot of stuff to do this week, but then again, if I can get my idea together today, I can work it into the stuff I have to get done this week. And I really could use the money.

Tarina

Oh, forgot to mention what she is planning...she wrote in an email to me afterward, "We are doing a sit down dinner, on the table we are having four tall candle holder the colors are silver and pink. The theme is a Winter Whispers with Ird[irredescent ?]colors and Metallic colors. Hope this will help maybe a round cake or square to feed about 15 guest. maybe you can come up with a ideas?"

I'm really drawing a blank on this one, but maybe I'm thinking too much on it...I don't know. Help!

Do you have a theme? Any hobbies or interests?

Hi fytar,

Did she tell you what type of things the b/g is into?

Since most teenagers love the telephone, how about doing an old princess type phone.

What about a simple round cake with royal icing snowflakes, and silver luster (?) dust to accent them?

since the theme is winter whispers...you could do a cake that is circular or octangular and cover with a pale pink/mauve frosting...

you could then do royal icing snowflakes, different sizes and then once they're dried color them with luster dust (silver)...have some on the cake and some around the cake..

according to the way she described everything, i don't think hobbies will play into this one. I'm going to call her right now and ask about the pink/mauve cake with snowflakes. i'll get back with you guys.

oh, btw, as soon as i started reading the posts you guys made, i could see all the possibilities! you guys rock!!

Lat weekend I just did a winter wedding cake that sounds like that! Check it out in my photos...3 tiers, white fondant, top irridescent powder finish to the fondant, royal icing snowflakes, etc.

I have some templates for snowflakes if you would like them.

MisDawn, I would love some if you don't mind. I bought some window stickies or something like that - they are plastic. I thought they would work great but they have too many dimensions to them. My email is [email protected]. Thanks so much.

Antonia74, I love all your work. Everything is so clean and crisp.

Well, here is the final cake...my photos aren't that great with this dinky little digital camera I have but you get the point!! I'm going to try to get a better picture before I deliver it tonight. Let me know what you think.

PS: My snowflakes were monsters to work with...they kept breaking.
