I have to make a cake for this coming Thursday. Yesterday (Friday) I was practicing to see if I could make the cake I was planning to make for Thurday and it turned out great!!! Do you think this cake will last until Thursday? It will be almost a week old by then. The cake is MM fondant and BC. Right now it is not refrigerated (I heard it not a good idea to refrigerate fondant), but if I should refrigerate it please let me know. Please let me know if this will keep until Thursday and still be just as good as it is today, or if it is not a good idea to keep it that long please let me know! Thanks!

To be honest, I wouldn't serve a 6 day old cake that had been left sitting on a counter. Or in the fridge, for that matter. If you could somehow freeze it, that would be different. But with the fondant, I think you're stuck.

Are you saying that you want to deliver the practice cake that you made? Maybe it's too early and I missed something. I think a week old cake would not be a good idea. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with everyone else...too long for a cake to sit out before eating. I think if you remake the cake for Thursday it will come out just as good or better because its easier to make the same cake twice and now you've had practice with itl.

You could give the practice cake away(maybe get more business) or grab a fork and dig in icon_wink.gif

I wouldn't chance it, in case it would be a little dry. Why not donate your practice cake to a foodbank or shelter? They'd apreciate it I'm sure.
