I need any ideas for a birthday cake made from Rice Krispies for my son's 18th birthday this weekend. I don't want to do just a plain sheet cake and decorate it. Somehow I want to make it special!! He's into computer games and theatre. Any ideas appreciated!!!

Thanx in advance for your help!!!

Make a computer in Rice Krispies! Monitor, keyboard, mouse...hilarious!

The warm Rice Krispie mixture can be formed into anything when still warm. Just butter your hands and shape away!

Here, found this (super blurry) remote control photo on the www.kelloggs.com site:

..first thing that comes to mind is the Rock Climbing that is made with the large rice krispy treat!

You can use the Wilton computer cake pan to mold the Rice Krispies.

Thanks for the ideas! I just checked the Wilton site and did not see the computer monitor pan that you referenced Lisa. Is this a new pan? I'm going to try and locate one locally. If I can't find one, I'll try to shape into a monitor while the Rice Krispies are warm.

I appreciate the quick response and enthusiasm!

No the pan is old and you'd probably only find it on ebay but the shape isn't difficult. You could probably do it by hand or by cutting the krispies.

Here's what the pan looks like if you want to try and make the shape.

Collette has a HUGE rice crispy treat cake in her birthday book.....you could tweak it to fit a computer theme......

Thanks everyone! I have an idea to make it in a sheet cake pan and while the mixture is still warm use a smaller pan to make an indention like a monitor and decorate it like the monitor. I'll check out Colette's book at the bookstore also.
