Just uploaded a couple of cakes and would love some comments and suggestions as I am still new to this and always ready to learn.
The first cake was done for my sister and brother-in-laws joint 50th birthday party. I was in charge of everything from getting the hall, decorations, food, games, music, and the cake. This was one of my first cakes done last Spring and I didn't know much more than how to do stars. I cut the large square cake in half to make the triangular body/base. This took 3 square cakes (6 layers) they were piled on an initial layer cut from a foam cake dummy for stability. The legs were made from the horseshoe pan and the heads from the sport ball pan. Hands were sugar cookies with Almonds for nails. Initially the backside was going to be a tombstone but since there was going to be several seniors there I decided to go with the car banner instead. Was fun making them look like the couple. When we cut we cut the male first so I took his head off and set it in the females lap this got lots of laughter and comments (Uploaded a picture of this, color not so good in this picture though). Was a huge cake, but there was alot of people at this party and lots of kids, all was ate by the end of the evening except for the heads which were taken home by the couple.
The Wiggles cake was done last weekend for a friends little boy turning 3. She wanted a layer cake with the layers white and simply decorated and the car. The car turned out better than I had expected. The cookies were fun to make as I made my own patterns from Wiggles clipart and then decorated to match. First time doing Color Flow which I used to make the Wiggles signs took alot longer to dry than I had expected. Overall was happy with this cake but would have preferred colored layers instead of white.[/img]
